Physician Assistant - Critical Care (Locum Tenens)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Start Date: June 30, 2025
Length: 13+ Weeks

Shifts: 12-hour day shifts, rotating weekends (1/3 of weekends)
Schedule: Full-Time, Semi-Self Scheduling
Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12 shifts)
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
Practice Setting: Inpatient (Acute Care)
Charting Software: EPIC
Patient Age Group: Adult Critical Care

Job Requirements:
State License: California (Required at time of submission)
Certifications: ACNP or AGACNP, BLS/ACLS/DEA (CSR preferred)
Experience: Must have at least 2 years of ICU PA-C experience

Board Certification: Required
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU PA experience
Trauma Level Experience: Preferred
EMR Experience: EPIC experience preferred

Job Specifics:
General: High acuity ICU experience required, managing patients post-cardiac surgery (ECMO, VADs, Impella). Strong liver transplant background with surgical ICU experience is desired.
Procedures: Experience in intubations, arterial lines, and central line placements preferred, but not required.
Work Environment: Critical care, high-acuity ICU, advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, liver transplant/SICU.

Additional Details:
Credentialing Timeframe: 60-120 Days
Location Preference: 50-mile travel requirement, locals accepted at a lower rate
Required Documentation: Valid state license, copy of certifications (AHA BLS/ACLS/DEA), background check
Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
Return Staff Policy: Gone for 1 year to return as traveler
