ProRec RS is hiring a Doctor of Dental Surgery/Medicine in Harrisburg, PA. The qualified candidate will provide comprehensive oral health care to patients in their dental facility. As our clinic's lead dental practitioner, you will apply evidence-based knowledge to prevent, diagnose, and treat conditions affecting the oral cavity and maxillofacial region.
You will perform involved procedures including surgical extractions, endodontics, restorative dentistry, and more. Excelling in patient education and counsel, you will develop personalized treatment plans addressing the unique needs and risk factors of each individual seeking care.
We expect our dentist to demonstrate mastery of pharmaceutical pain and anxiety control modalities. You will ensure strict adherence to hazard communication, infection control, and occupational safety regulations in our clinic.
To excel in this role, you must hold an active dental license without restrictions and have 5+ years of clinical practice experience. You should also possess a dedication to continuing education and research to implement emerging best practices in local dental therapeutics.
Responsibilities:
- Examine teeth, gums, and other areas of the oral cavity to assess oral health and determine necessary treatment
- Diagnose dental issues and develop treatment plans including extractions, fillings, cleaning, and surgical procedures
- Administer anesthetics and sedatives to numb areas being treated and help patients manage anxiety/discomfort
- Perform surgical procedures like tooth extractions and soft tissue biopsies
- Fill cavities, place protective sealants, insert bridges and crowns, and repair fractured teeth using dental instruments
- Educate patients on proper dental hygiene, prevention of oral diseases, and diet choices to maintain health
- Prescribe medications to treat oral infections or manage dental pain
- Oversee dental hygienists, assistants, techs, and other staff, delegating tasks and monitoring performance
- Ensure compliance with dental health regulations, safety standards, and infection control policies
- Maintain dental records, including charts, radiographs and intraoral camera images, and lab reports
- Continuously expand dental knowledge through education and research
Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree
- Active state license to practice dentistry
- 5+ years of experience as a licensed dentist
- Excellent diagnostic skills and knowledge of oral anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency with dental equipment, instruments, and procedures
- Attention to detail and adherence to dental safety standards
- Effective communication skills to educate patients
- Ability to stand for long periods while performing intricate dental work
