The Nurse Practitioner will provide outpatient, non-urgent care services to beneficiaries of the Indian Health Service at the Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Lawton Indian Hospital is a full-service hospital providing a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and public health services. Position details:
1099, $100-110/hour
Full time
Chenega covers medical malpractice insurance
Patient Volume: Estimated 20 per day
Responsibilities:
Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen.
Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Contract Health Service (CHS) vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines.
Document services in the electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete all required administrative paperwork day of appointment to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review.
Provide consultation to the Emergency Department health care providers on an as needed basis.
Complete and sign their encounter orders and progress notes daily.
Provide Nurse Practitioner services in all departments, as needed.
Qualifications:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Possess current certification as a nurse practitioner with training commensurate with the training required by the position by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Active DEA license.
