Neurosurgery NP/PA – Outpatient Ambulatory Clinic | Seeking Boston Locals

Job description

Join one of Boston’s most prestigious medical institutions as a Locum Tenens NP or PA in the Neurosurgery Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a local provider looking to step into a highly regarded academic setting with a structured ambulatory schedule and no call requirements.

Position Overview:
• Start Date: August 4, 2025
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (maternity leave coverage) with option to extend
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3–4 shifts/week (8a–4p or 9a–5p)
• Shift Type: Day shifts only – outpatient/ambulatory hours
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Setting: Outpatient Neurosurgery
• Charting: Epic EMR

Role Details:
• Participate in morning rounds with residents to align on care plans
• Manage patient in-basket: refill prescriptions, return calls, address patient concerns
• Assist in clinic on designated days – follow-ups either independently or in tandem
• Perform wound assessments, suture/staple removal (preferred but not required)
• Discharge planning and order entry

Requirements:
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Massachusetts License
• At least 1 year of experience in neurosurgery or surgical specialties
• Local to the Boston area
