Pay: $130.00-145.00 per hour

Inpatient responsibilities:
Surgical first assist
Bedside procedures
Daily rounding
ER/UC consults
1:3 rotating call

Surgical cases include:
Craniotomy
Craniectomy
Spinal fusions
Decompressive surgeries
Interventions for aneurysms, tumors and nerve injuries

Clinic coverage:
Consults and post-ops
Fracture care
Patient phone calls and medication refills
FMLA documentation
10-12 PPD

EMR: Cerner
Credentialing: 30-60 days
Experience: 1 year

Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP or PA specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions

Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team

Education Requirements:
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)

Licenses & Certifications:
Willing to await licensure
National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])

Experience:
While specific requirements may vary, most locum NP and PA positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Additional Notes:
Locum tenens NP and PA positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities
