Locums – Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
Start Date: September 8, 2025
Location: Texas
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Shift Structure: 5x8s, Day Shift
Call: No Call
Coverage Needed: 3–5 shifts/week during September
Position Description
A well-regarded health system in Texas is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide outpatient full-scope midwifery care on a locum basis. This role is focused on clinic-based OB/GYN services, with some in-hospital leadership and triage responsibilities.
Job Duties
• Independently manage full-scope midwifery care in the outpatient setting
• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, RNs, LCSWs, lactation counselors, childbirth educators, and other specialists
• Participate in OB triage and provide leadership on Labor & Delivery
• Provide first assist support in surgical procedures
• Participate in QI initiatives and attend simulation training for high-risk events
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in intrapartum, postpartum, and OB triage in a hospital setting preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to function independently within a collaborative team model
• Skilled in patient-centered care, shared decision-making, and holistic women’s health
• Must have current:
○ Texas RN and APRN licenses
○ Active AMCB Certification
○ NRP and BLS certifications (required by start date)
• Preferred: Obstetric ultrasound, advanced fetal monitoring, lactation consultant certification
Travel & Licensing
• Texas license required – must be active
• Travel included: Airfare, lodging, and rental car covered
