Locum OB Hospitalist - CA Bay Area

Job description

We are seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist for a locum tenens assignment in Oakland, CA, working night shifts (13 hours each). This opportunity is ideal for a physician comfortable with active labor management, high-acuity obstetrics, and collaboration with midwives. The provider will not be required to perform abortions, but should be prepared to manage any complications resulting from such procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage 5–8 active labor patients per night

1–2 OB ED consults per night

Provide full-scope inpatient obstetric care

Collaborate with midwives and hospital staff

Perform operative deliveries (experience with forceps preferred)

Respond to OB emergencies and manage postpartum complications

Practice Details:
Setting: Inpatient Hospital

EMR: Epic

Patient Population: Adults

Support Staff: Midwife collaboration preferred

Languages: Spanish-speaking skills highly preferred
