Colorectal Surgery Locums in Eastern Georgia | 24hr Call Coverage

Job description

• Support staff: 1 MD on call—no APP-there are 3 docs in the practice that will be available in the clinic or from OR if support needed
• Schedule Details: Coverage for Emergency Dept, Inpatient consults and emergency procedures at hospital from 7:30a-6p daily so that inpatient colonoscopies and other surgical cases can be supported if requiring an early start. Then take Call for the ED, Inpatient, and Clinic patients (6P-7:30am. Calls are 1-2 per night total. Weekend call is Fri 6pm—Mon at 7am.

• Avg. Daily Census: 12-15/day (consults and procedures)
• Beds: 503
• Patient Age Group: adult
• Procedures: Colorectal Surgeons (Proctologist) - Lower abdominal/digestive tract procedures-colonoscopies, anoscopies, rectal surgery, colon resections, polyps, pelvic organ prolapse, inflammatory bowel issues, etc

Requirements:
• Board Certifications Req’d: American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery or General Surgery. They can be boarded in General Surgery with proficiency in lower GI procedures.
• State License(s): GA required. IMLC is considered
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• DEA Req’d?: YES
• Years of Experience Req’d: Minimal 2-5 years experience

Credentialing Timeframe: 120 days

• 1 week/month
• Level I trauma center
• Will cover new GA license
