OB Hospitalist – Locum Tenens

Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified OB Hospitalist to provide 7–10 days of in-house 24-hour call coverage per month in Michigan. This is a hospital-based role covering both Labor & Delivery and ER consults at a well-equipped facility with an experienced support team.

Facility Type: Community Hospital

Beds: 18-bed Labor & Delivery Unit

Average Daily Census: 3–4 laboring patients

Department Resources: On-site lab and ultrasound

C-Section Rate: ~30%

Designated Call Room: Yes

📅 Schedule & Coverage:
Coverage Type: 24-hour in-house call

Days Needed: 7–10 shifts per month (flexible scheduling available)

Setting: Hospital-based – no outpatient clinic

Responsibilities:

Labor & Delivery management

ER consults

OB/GYN procedures (see below)

🛠️ Procedures Required:
Obstetric Procedures:

Management of low- and high-risk pregnancies

Fetal heart rate interpretation

OB ultrasound interpretation and performance (Level I & II)

Amniocentesis

Labor & Delivery:

Vaginal & C-section deliveries

VBACs

Forceps, breech, multiple births

Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

GYN Procedures:

IUD insertion/removal, colposcopy, LEEP, cryosurgery

Surgical GYN: tubal ligation, ovarian cystectomy, ectopic pregnancies

Diagnostic & operative laparoscopy
