24hr OBGYN Hospitalist Locums – Detroit, MI

Job description

Support staff:?No APPs, 6 physicians in practice, no OBGYN on call – residents, 1 generalist on site and 1 generalist for backup.
Coverage Type: 24hr call (with designated call room) working 7 to 10 shifts per month
Schedule Details: Hospitalist is covering for Labor and Delivery and ER room, in-house call.

Work Details:
• Facility Type: Level II trauma, Level II nursery
• Practice Setting: Hospital
• Department Description: on-site lab and ultrasound, 30% of patients are C-sections
• EMR/Charting Software: EPIC
• Avg. Daily Census: 3-4 laboring patients per day
• Beds: 18 beds in unit
• Patient Age Group: adults

Procedures:
OB required procedures -
Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)
High Risk Pregnancy (i.e. with Toxemia, Diabetes, Class II or Higher Cardiacs, Chronic Lung Problems, Chronic Renal Disease, etc.)
FHR Interpretation – NST/CST/FSE
OB ultrasounds – Performance of Interpretation
OB ultrasounds – Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability)
OB ultrasounds – Performance of Level II/Targeted (Anatomic)
Amniocentesis

• Labor & Delivery required procedures -
Routine Delivery –Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section
Complicated Delivery –C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.
VBAC’s
Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations

• GYN required procedures –
Office/Minor Gynecology –IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
Surgical Gynecology – Open
Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only - Tubal Ligation, LOA’s, Chromal Tubation
Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) – Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOA’s

Requirements:
• Board Certifications Internal Medicine . Can be BC or BE (no more than 3 yrs out of residency)
• State License(s): MI (required)
• Certifications: BLS
• Years of Experience Req’d: 1 year minimum
• Flu vaccine required

Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days

• Inhouse call coverage
• 7-10 shifts/month
