OB/GYN Physician Needed for Ongoing Weekend Call Coverage – Lake Granbury Medical Center, TX
Job description
Lake Granbury Medical Center, part of the Community Health Systems network, is seeking a board‑certified Obstetrician‑Gynecologist for long‑term locum tenens coverage. The role begins October 3, 2025, and supports both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities to cover a permanent vacancy.
As an integral part of the care team, the provider will oversee a high-volume obstetric service (~630 deliveries/year), performing vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and OB ultrasounds. Providers will alternate weekend call coverage, averaging 9–10 call days per month, starting Friday at noon and ending Monday at 7 AM. Beeper call is mandatory with a 30‑minute response time and approximately 80% callback rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive OB/GYN care in clinic and hospital settings
- Perform surgeries in OR block time included
- Handle 2–4 patient cases per shift and 2–4 admissions
- Manage OB/GYN phone consults (~5–7 per shift)
- Document care in Athena and Medhost EMRs
Position Details:

- Schedule: BEP call rotation (weekend heavy)
- Call: Beeper, 1:3 ratio, 30‑minute response time
- Certifications: BLS and NRP required
- Licensure: Required TX license; temp privileges available
- Credentialing: Estimated 30–45 days
- Stroke Certified Facility, Trauma Level 4, with AP and nurse support
