OBGYN Locum Tenens – 24-Hour Call Shifts | 8 Shifts/Month | VA

Job description

We are currently staffing for a locum tenens OBGYN physician to support a well-respected healthcare facility in southwestern Virginia. The assignment offers consistent monthly scheduling with strong clinical resources and infrastructure in place.

Assignment Details:
• Start Date: September 2025
• Shift Structure: 8x 24-hour call shifts per month (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Contract Length: 6 months
• Setting: Combination of hospital-based call and outpatient clinic support
• Facility Type: Acute-care medical center (146 beds) with Level II nursery
• EMR System: Epic

Clinical Scope:
• Responsibilities:
o Inpatient OB call: Labor & delivery coverage and unassigned OB/GYN hospital call
o Minor GYN surgical cases

• Volume:
o ~70–75 deliveries/month
o 20–25 non-obstetrical GYN surgeries/month

• Support Team:
o 5 Board-Certified OB/GYNs
o 5 Advanced Practice Providers
o Certified Nurse Midwife
o Full access to surgical, anesthetic, and neonatal support services

Requirements:
• Certifications:
o Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
o Active Virginia medical license
o DEA required
o Preferred: EFM, NRP, PALS

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years post-residency (5+ preferred)
• Credentialing Timeframe: 90–120 days
