Full-Time OBGYN Locum – Clinic + Call Coverage | 6-Month Contract | Virginia

Job description

We are seeking a seasoned OBGYN physician for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Southwest Virginia. This 6-month contract blends office-based care with a balanced call schedule, providing an excellent fit for physicians comfortable managing both ambulatory and hospital OB/GYN duties.

Assignment Details:
• Start Date: September 2025
• Contract Length: 6 months
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM in clinic
• Call Frequency: 1:6 call rotation; includes OB labor and delivery and unassigned hospital coverage
• Facility Type: Integrated outpatient clinic and hospital
• EMR: Epic
• Patient Volume: Approx. 25 patients/day in clinic
• Support Staff: 5 board-certified OB/GYNs, 5 advanced practice providers, and a certified nurse midwife

Clinical Scope:
• Core obstetrics and gynecology with minor GYN surgical cases
• Practice averages:
o 70–75 deliveries/month
o 20–25 non-obstetric GYN surgeries/month
• Level II nursery and comprehensive inpatient support
• 146-bed acute-care facility with over 280 medical staff across specialties

Requirements:
• Board Certification: American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (BC/BE)
• Licensure: Active Virginia license (required)
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years post-residency; 5+ years preferred
• Certifications: DEA (required); EFM, NRP, and PALS (preferred)
• Credentialing Timeframe: 90–120 days
• Note: Clean credentialing file and name clear process mandatory
