Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Details:
Location: Marshfield WI
Pay: $175.00-200.00 per hour
Assignment Length: 13-weeks
Schedule:
Full-time inpatient rehab unit coverage
Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5:00p
Inpatient coverage, afternoon clinic coverage available
Average daily census 7-8
Openings: 2
Start Date: As soon as credentialed

Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
Evaluate patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and disabling conditions
Perform detailed physical examinations and take comprehensive medical histories
Develop and implement individualized, function-focused treatment plans
Coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs (e.g., physical, occupational, speech therapy)
Prescribe medications, orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices
Perform non-surgical pain management procedures (e.g., joint injections, nerve blocks, trigger point injections)
Manage chronic pain conditions such as back pain, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain
Lead rehabilitation efforts for patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and amputations
Educate patients and families about rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and recovery expectations
Provide guidance on injury prevention, physical activity, and adaptive living strategies
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and progress reports
Conduct disability evaluations and functional capacity assessments
Prepare medical-legal documentation and serve as an expert witness when necessary
Promote wellness strategies, ergonomics, and preventive care to reduce future injury risk
Advocate for patients’ access to adaptive technologies and environmental modifications

Skills:
Strong understanding of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation principles, treatments and procedures
Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations
Ability to effectively communicate complex information to patients, families and healthcare teams
Expertise in performing and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams

Education Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)

Licenses & Certifications:
Board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM)
Active and unrestricted medical license in Wisconsin

Experience:
While specific requirements may vary, most locum Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting
