Job Title: Urgent Care Physician – Locum Tenens
Locations: Springfield, MO and Joplin, MO
Schedule: Up to 14 shifts/month | 12-hour shifts required | Weekday and weekend availability preferred

Overview:
We are actively seeking board-certified or board-eligible (within 5 years of residency) physicians to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage at urgent care centers in Springfield and Joplin, Missouri. This is an outstanding opportunity for qualified providers who are committed to patient-centered care and able to work flexible schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be residency trained and board certified (or BE within 5 years) in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds

Board must be recognized by ABMS (American Board of Medical Specialties) or AOB (American Osteopathic Board) – no exceptions

Must be trained to care for both adults and pediatrics (ages 6 months and up)

Must show proof of 50 patient encounters within the past 12 months, aligned with privileges requested

BLS certification required (must be current and issued by the American Heart Association)

Must be comfortable with:

Minor procedures: suturing, wound care, I&Ds, splinting, casting

Reading and interpreting X-rays and ECGs

EMR – Epic experience preferred

Must be willing to work with a support team of medical assistants, scribes, and rad techs (no RN or LPN support on site)

Scheduling & Shift Details:

Urgent Care Centers Hours:

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12-hour shifts required)

Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts currently; may convert to 12s)

Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts

No overtime granted; shifts are scheduled accordingly

Up to 14 shifts per month available

Must be willing to work at multiple center locations across Springfield and Joplin

Facility Details:

Urgent Care clinic setting

Onsite lab, mobile X-ray, and access to additional healthcare system resources

Patient population: 6 months and up for urgent care services

No housing or travel provided, but those within commutable distance are strongly encouraged to apply
