Job description
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Schedule: Monday - Friday- Shift times TBD
Work Details:
• Support staff: MA – 1; Office Staff – 3
• Facility Trauma Level: 2
• Patients per day: 5
• Patient population/age: Adult, Pediatric, Neonate, & Trauma
• Department description: Surgery - Cardiovascular, Thoracic Surgery - Cardio Thoracic Surgery
• EMR: Athena for practice, Cerner for hospital
• Skills required: General Surgery (Adult, Pediatric, Neonate, & Trauma), Chest wall/pleural procedures, Chest tube insertion, Central Line insertion, PA Catheter placement, Gastroschisis. This position is for 1st assist to our CVT on their heart cases. It can also be a general surgeon not just a CVT locum. There would be no office time.
• Skills preferred:
o Vascular Surgery: Aneurysm repairs - Thoracic, Arterial bypass, Peripheral, Vascular Access devices, AV shunt
o Cardiac/Thoracic Skills: General CV/thoracic surgery (Open & Endoscopic), Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (On & Off Pump), Congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.), Valvular repair (Valvular replacement), Aneurism repair (Cardiac & Aorto-thoracic), Lung resection (including VATs), Chest wall or pleural procedures, Esophagus and diaphragm surgeries, Permanent pacemaker placement, AICD (Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator), Left ventricular assist devices, TAVR, CABG, Vent Management, Bronchoscopy, Eval. And management of acute vol/BP issues, Insertion of Central Line, Insertion of Arterial Line, Insertion of PA Catheter, Insertion of IABP
o Vascular Skills: General Vascular surgery (Open and Endovascular), Aneurysm repair - aorto-abdominal, Bypass procedures - aorto-femoral/iliac (Fem-pop), Endarterectomy (Not specified below) (Carotid & Renal), Subclavian steal procedure, TAVR, CABG, Vent Management, Bronchoscopy, Eval. And management of acute vol/BP issues, Insertion of Central Line, Insertion of Arterial Line, Insertion of PA Catheter, Insertion of IABP

• State license required: Yes, State of CA
• Certification Required: BLS & ACLS
